Police: Pa. Man stopped for beer after breakout

Pittsburgh, PA. (AP) — police say a Western Pennsylvania man stopped at a bar and had a beer minutes later broke out holding cell after his arrest on a charge of assault on a police station.

Public Defender's Office, Washington County on Wednesday refused to comment on the charges filed against 40-year-old Smith Township resident Timothy Bonner.
Police say they were processing Bonner, removed his handcuffs and put him in the cell. That's when Bonner allegedly knocked on the door of the cell off its hinges and ran away.
After stopping at home to borrow his shoes, police said Bonner went to the Bar, where a customer Richy tells WPXI-TV (http://bit.ly/T6R6zl) the suspect has acknowledged breaking out of prison and then asked for a beer.
The client says that he bought a beer for Bonner, who did not get to enjoy it before Police arrested him.
