Addison, Tx-elegant Homes In The Heart Of Dallas

Addison, Tx-elegant Homes In The Heart Of Dallas

One of the most popular stopping places in Dallas remains to be Addison, which is a great neighborhood within the large city. Known as the “Heart of Dallas”, residents of Addison really do enjoy spectacular sites, attractions, venues, and unique amenities that are appreciated by not only those living within, but those who are visiting as well. Lodging, dining, shopping, and living is definitely at a much higher level with Addison, Texas, offering one of the most unique cities in the world.

There are several special events, each held on yearly and seasonal intervals, as well as great shopping which includes Nordstroms and Saks Fifth Avenue, representing more high-end shopping within the area. The WaterTower Theatre is a perfect cultural facility that is highly renowned throughout the U.S. Boredom is only a word within Addison, TX, which is mainly the reason that Dallas holds it so dear to its heart.

There is a short 13 mile commute for residents between Addison and downtown Dallas, TX, which is another great reason why the area is so valued within the large city. There are so many that enjoy the short commute as they report to work each day and retire to their luxurious homes in Addison. Home prices can range across a very diverse range, with many homes reaching higher prices than others in Dallas neighborhoods. Communities are found with meticulous landscaping and more attention to detail than in others. Urban development has brought a great deal of the city’s style, while there is still a picture of the older years as well.

There is a population of nearly 16,000 in Addison, with the area nestled within the northern section of Dallas, presenting one of the better known suburbs. With a median home cost of $ 350,000, there are many more professionals and families throughout the area than the latter, with not as many young families found within. However, there are housing options for all incomes within the many urban neighborhood communities, with gated communities offered as well.

The establishment of Addison is traced back to 1846, when Preston Witt decided it was time to build his house near Dallas’s White Rock Creek. The name Addison wasn’t given to the neighborhood until 1902, after the postmaster, Addison Robertson, who served the city from 1908 to 1916. A cotton gin was added to Addison Road in 1902, creating the first industry within the area-and a prosperous one at that.

All in all, if you really want a stunning home in the heart of Dallas, there is no better place than Addison, TX. The incorporated city is its own city and follows its own government, however, is still a great and thriving suburb of Dallas that provides a great location for those that want to rest in the elegance of Dallas. Choosing Addison is a great choice, with a short commute to all the businesses within Dallas, great for those professionals that need to get to and from work each day in downtown Dallas or within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

*************
Friends of mine moved to townhouses in NJ a few years ago. They told me that living in a townhouse in NJ is excellent, even more so for young people and for the first time that you’re living alone. They told me that since the first time they went to New Jersey they felt freedom and peace. They’re all neighbors and they told me that Townhouses in NJ have fresh air and nice people around. My friends recommended that I buy a townhouse in NJ, and after thinking about it for a while I decided to buy one, because after all I couldn’t lose anything more than a little bit of money. But now, I can say that my townhouse in NJ exceeded all my expectations, to the point that I’m very happy and every day I wake up with a huge smile on my face. Townhouses in NJ can be purchased  for really good prices and those places offer a lot of conveniences. My new townhouse in NJ offered me all that I was looking for, and nowadays I’m feeling lucky and successful. Incredible, right?. But trust me, I’m not the only one, New Jersey and townhouses in New Jersey can make it happen.

Swarms of ladybugs overtake homes

Asian lady beetles have swarmed Tennessee homes. The ladybugs are covering houses throughout areas of the state and are attracted to light colored structures for warmth as outdoor temperatures drop.  Entomologist and Davidson County Extension Agent explained the swarms to WTVF Newschannel 5, "We have perfect weather conditions, and a large food population...This is a perfect insect storm." Lebanon resident Diane Stroud was hit with the 'insect storm' saying, "There were probably one million of them…They were all over the porch. I mean the whole porch was completely covered…I mean, it was almost completely black with ‘em." Ken Thompson, another Tennessean in Madisonville dealing with the insects told WBIR, "The ladybugs come from the north, over here, and it looked like a big swarm of hornets coming. And about 12 o'clock, they covered this whole side of the house from that side, all the way around."

David Cook said, “Some of our other county agents have called in and say, ‘What’s the deal with these? All of a sudden they just show up.’” The entomologist gave his assurance that the bugs are harmless but they have, “a very foul odor and a very bitter taste and so this protects these insects from being preyed on by lizards and birds.” Experts say the invasion will not end until several cold snaps cause the insects to die naturally. Guy Wilson of Wilson County told WKRN News 2, “Well I don’t like cold snaps, but uh, yeah, I’d like to see them go ‘cause it’s be a bit of a problem if we have to keep cleaning them up every, every day.” Adam Weckesser of Dayton’s Pest Control gave this helpful cleanup tip, "Pantyhose on the inside of a vacuum and so you suck ‘em into a vacuum and then you can throw the pantyhose away, and you can kind of collect them this way ‘cause once they get into the bag, it's just going to stink up."

Swarms of the Asian lady beetles have also been reported throughout the Midwest, parts of the Northeast and Canada. For those that are fond of insects, pest control experts say that there are more to come, as kudzu bugs are likely to follow.

Mystery gnome homes appear along trail in Kansas

Overland Park, Kan., has some new, pint-size residents. Or at least, residences. Tiny “gnome homes” have sprung up at the base of knotty trees, two at last count, around the city’s Tomahawk Creek Trail.

"We don't know when they arrived or who's living in these little tree homes, but we welcome them to Overland Park," City spokesman Sean Reilly told local station KMBZ.

The city has rolled out the welcome mat for its gnome neighbors, providing the public with a map and an introduction on Facebook.

“It’s recently been discovered that a small gnome population has become the city’s newest residents” the Facebook post reads. “The gnomes are currently residing in trees along the Tomahawk Creek Trail. They just moved to the area and would love to meet any neighbors they may have. Here are the locations of their tiny houses, so feel free to stop by and say hello! They will even leave a note and tea if “Gnomebodies” home … how thoughtful!"

The mystery miniature homes have tiny painted doorways, mailboxes, even welcome mats. But no gnomes seem to be home. Perhaps they've headed to Home Depot for some home decorating touches?

These are not the first pint-size houses to magically appear in a city. Back in March a mystery elf door appeared in the bottom of a tree in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park causing a Web frenzy of theories along with plenty of pilgrimages to the site.

More than 300,000 homes are foreclosed "zombies," study says

By Barbara Liston

ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - A national survey found 301,874 "zombie" properties dotting the U.S. landscape in which homeowners in foreclosure have moved out, leaving vacant property susceptible to vandalism and degradation.

Florida tops the list of zombie properties with 90,556 vacant homes in foreclosure, according to a foreclosure inventory released on Thursday by RealtyTrac, a real estate information company in Irvine, California.

Illinois and California ranked a distant second and third with 31,668 and 28,821 zombie properties respectively on the list.

The number of homes overall in foreclosure or bank-owned rose by 9 percent to 1.5 million properties nationally in the first quarter of 2013 compared to a year ago, according to RealtyTrac.

Another 10.9 million homeowners nationwide remain at risk because they owe more than their property is worth, according to company vice president Daren Blomquist.

RealtyTrac for the first time analyzed data on zombie properties after a Reuters' special report in January examined the special problem of zombie titles, Blomquist said.

Reuters revealed the plight of people who walked away from their homes not realizing that their names remained on the deed and that they were financially liable for taxes and other bills related to the abandoned property.

In some cases, homeowners vacated after receiving a notice from the bank of a planned foreclosure sale, only to find out later the bank never followed through.

Zombie properties can be easy to spot as they deteriorate into neighborhood eyesores and havens for criminal activity.

While Florida leads in volume of zombie properties, Kentucky, with less than 1,000 zombie properties, leads in percentage, with zombies representing 54 percent of its total foreclosure inventory, Blomquist said.

Zombies in Washington, Indiana, Nevada and Oregon also constitute 50 percent or more of the properties in foreclosure, according to the report.

Blomquist said the number of zombie properties could be higher than represented in the RealtyTrac report, which used a conservative methodology.

In Florida, for example, the company does not count any property that has been in foreclosure longer than the state average of 853 days and for which there has been no significant recent activity. The report also does not take into account cases in which a bank chose not to follow through on a foreclosure judgment, leaving the property in limbo.

Blomquist said the long average time to complete a foreclosure case in Florida likely contributes to the high number of zombie properties, as people give up hope over time and walk away.

Blomquist said the findings overall show a housing recovery is under way but not yet deeply rooted.

"I think the empty foreclosures is less of a long-term threat but it certainly is affecting individual communities and neighborhoods," Blomquist said.

According to the Reuters special report, municipalities are left to deal with the mess when people move out after receiving a notice of a planned foreclosure sale that the bank then cancels.

Some spend public funds on securing, cleaning and stabilizing houses that generate no tax revenue. Others let the houses rot.

Unsuspecting homeowners have had their wages garnished, their credit destroyed and their tax refunds seized. They've opened their mail to find bills for back taxes, graffiti-scrubbing services, demolition crews, trash removal, gutter repair, exterior cleaning and lawn clipping.

In some cities, people with zombie titles can be sentenced to probation, with the threat of jail if they don't bring their houses into compliance.

Wanted: Scammer who squatted in luxury homes for 5 years

Washington State case in which Jessica Carde allegedly squatted. (County Attorney's Office of the King)

A Seattle woman faces felony charges alleging she played the role of a victim of identity theft and squatted in luxury homes of several million dollars for five years.

Online journal that Seattle PI reports that 58-year-old Jessica Carde is still great while facing 12 felony counts by the Office of the King County Prosecutor.

How, exactly, did the job of his alleged scheme? According to Seattle PI, "Carde presented itself as a wealthy entrepreneur with a significant line of credit that was interested in purchasing a home. ... But when the time came to make a deposit, Carde claimed to have had his identity stolen before pushing towards a lease-purchase.

"Hire-purchase agreements — also known as rent to buy plans — will allow a prospective purchaser to make payments to the homeowner over time," the site has continued. "After it was paid the amount of money, the House is signed for the tenant."

The court documents describe Carde as engaging in "deceptive acts of retaliation against the homeowner to prevent or delay eviction.»

A 2010 survey from MSNBC found that "mansion squatters" have become a significant problem in many large cities in the United States, including Seattle. The problem is that with so many homes in foreclosure thanks to the economic crisis, property managers are often able to closely monitor the houses under their jurisdiction.

Carde, which reportedly presented falsified documents showing that she was prequalified for a mortgage, had fake business cards which contained a mouthful of presumed expertise. He described his professional duties as international speaker, trainer and consultant, personal/professional/executive life coach, neurobiofeedback technical specialist/brain wave, mediation specialist, health educator and instructor. "

Seattle Weekly Profile Cards dating back to May 2011 makes the story even more shocking.

The weekly reported that, according to the financial institutions Department researcher Steven Sherman, Carde presumably convinced some private lenders for giving her large sums of money that he used to "support his lifestyle and ... maintain the illusion that she was rich."

In some cases, Carde made instalments with the owners, but did so while planning falter on the actual amount owed.

And he got even more damaging: when the rightful owners attempted to evict Carde, she would make false accusations against them, filing police reports that accused them of threatening his life.

Worst of all, Carde may have risked the health of one of his victims. In 2010, she presented herself as "specialist" brain wave to one of its creditors, saying that she could provide medical care for the man, who had suffered a stroke.

"He said she (he) could cure with ' brain ' and convinced his wife ... to try," Sherman told the Court when the charges were filed the 11 March. "Carde placed electrodes on (his) head to ' jump the clot on."

Carde is accused of presenting false credit lines, squatting and then ducking out on his debts after being evicted more than a half-dozen times. Prosecutors hope to put it on a $ 150,000 bond, but they bring first elusive would-be-House authority.
