Private production but public distribution, four varieties of marijuana available to consumers registered, authorization of cultivation in homes and maximum of 40 grams per month: these are the main measures contained in the bill of the Uruguayan government that will, if approved by Parliament, the legalization of '' grass'.
In practice, the marijuana will be cultivated by companies and private clubs - even though the standard does not exclude the possibility that the state will spend on this activity - and then sold to consumers through a network of clinics registered public that deliver no more than 40 grams per person, in four varieties: cannabis indica, cannabis sativa and two different mixtures of the two.
Citizens will be able to cultivate their house up to six cannabis plants, for an annual crop that does not exceed 480 grams. As for the club of consumers, they will just need to grow their own consumption, and not be able to sell to third parties. Consumers will be registered but their identity will be protected by privacy laws, and may not be disclosed in accordance with a court order.
